Sedation Dentistry

Types of Sedation Offered

Nitrous Oxide Known as laughing gas, this type of sedation involves inhaling gas through a nasal mask during treatment to lessen stress and improve comfort. This is offered to our patients for a charge of $36 and is the only type of sedation where you do not need a driver to bring you to your appointment.

Oral Conscious Sedation This type of sedation involves the use of the Nitrous Oxide mentioned above along with an oral sedative, such as Valium, taken before your dental procedure. You are required to sign consents and have a driver for this option.

Conscious Sedation This type of sedation involves taking three prescription medications (one sedative, one anti-naseau medication and one pain medication) one-hour prior to your appointment. The combination of these three medications relieves stress and lessens tension. You are required to sign a consent form and have a driver with this option.

IV Sedation This type of sedation involves being put completely under in our office by a nurse anesthetist. You are required to sign consent forms and have a driver for this option, as well as fasting after midnight the night before your appointment.
